Process of Bentonite Cat Litter Production Line

The production process of bentonite cat litter mainly includes raw material preparation, crushing, mixing, disc granulation, drying, screening and packaging.

1. Raw Material Preparation

Bentonite is fed into the raw material hopper and then conveyed to the crushing and mixing section. According to the product formulation, deodorizing agents, fragrances or other additives can be added through the batching system.

2. Crushing Process

The hammer crusher crushes large lumps of bentonite into fine and relatively uniform powder. Proper particle size is important because the raw material needs to be thoroughly mixed and rolled during the subsequent granulation process.

3. Mixing Process

The crushed bentonite powder and other additives are fed into the mixer according to the required formulation. Water is added at a controlled rate to adjust the moisture content and improve the agglomeration performance of the material during disc granulation.

4. Disc Granulation Process

The conditioned bentonite material enters the disc granulator.

The inclined disc rotates continuously, causing the material to roll and move along the disc surface. Fine bentonite particles gradually adhere to each other under the combined action of moisture, rolling and centrifugal force, forming larger granules.

By adjusting the disc inclination angle, rotation speed, moisture content and feeding rate, the formation and size of cat litter particles can be controlled.

5. Drying Process

Freshly formed cat litter granules contain a certain amount of moisture and are conveyed to the rotary dryer.

The rotary dryer uses hot air to reduce the moisture content of the granules. During the rotation of the drum, the cat litter is repeatedly lifted and dispersed, increasing contact with the hot air and improving drying efficiency.

6. Screening Process

After drying, the cat litter enters the rotary screening machine.

Qualified particles are separated according to the required particle size and sent to the packing section. Oversized and undersized materials can be returned to the appropriate processing section for reprocessing, reducing material loss.

7. Packing Process

The qualified bentonite cat litter is conveyed to the automatic packing machine.

According to the customer’s packaging requirements, the machine can fill and seal different bag sizes for retail or bulk distribution. The finished cat litter can then be palletized and prepared for storage or transportation.

During operation, bentonite powder with controlled moisture content is continuously fed onto the rotating disc. As the disc rotates at an inclined angle, the material rolls repeatedly on the disc surface. Small particles gradually collect and grow into larger granules.
